Array Components
Each Adaptive Flash Array and Secondary Flash Array model includes the chassis, two controllers with fans and NVDIMM, and two power supplies.

You can connect up to two SF-ES2 expansion shelves to an SF100 or SF300 Secondary Flash array. The rules for connecting expansion shelves to Adaptive Flash arrays (CS1000H, CS1000, CS3000, CS5000, and CS7000) are as follows:
- Up to six ES2-H expansion shelves can be connected to an array (up to three ES2-H shelves per SAS port).
- One ES2-AFS2 expansion shelf can be connected to the array (in addition to any ES2-H expansion shelves). The recommendation is to connect the ES2-AFS2 directly to the array, although it is not a requirement.
- A maxiumum of four total shelves (one ES2-AFS2 shelf and up to three ES2-H shelves) can be connected to one SAS port. In this case, the other SAS port can have a maximum of three ES2-H shelves.
