To prevent your volumes from going offline, shut down the array
that manages this expansion shelf first. Then shut down the expansion shelf. See
Shut Down the Array Using the GUI.
For most hardware changes you do not need to shut down (power off)
the expansion shelf because the components are redundant and hot swappable.
You can shut down an expansion shelf using the Power button.
To shut down the expansion shelf, press and hold the Power
button for 4 seconds.
