Model Upgrades

If your goal is to increase performance, you can perform a cache upgrade or a controller upgrade.

In a cache upgrade for the CS200 Series and CS400 Series models, the existing cache SSD drives are replaced with larger ones. In a controller upgrade, the existing controllers are replaced with faster ones. Either of these upgrades result in a new model number for the array.

The following tables list the available upgrade options for Nimble arrays.

If your goal is to increase data capacity, you can add up to three expansion shelves to your array (one expansion shelf on the CS210). For the CS400 Series models and the CS700 series (CS300, CS500, CS700), you can add an All-Flash Shelf (AFS) to the array in addition to the expansion shelves.
